May 4, 2020 SC Governor lifts stay at home and allow restaurants to open outside dinning. Also allowing them to use 25% of there parking to add more space to spread out tables to conform to social distancing. Drive thru at most all restaurants remain busy with lines around buildings at peak times.
SC & Horry County starts re opening for business, April 21, 2020. Slowly we are seeing non essential businesses start to open. Many doing pick up or door service sales. Limited number of beaches also have opened.
This is just the start as we return to more of a normal life style here in SC. Schools will not re open until the fall. More updates will be soon come as they are released.
April 16, 2020 - SC Governor McMaster re-opens ramps to water ways for use.
SC looks forward in getting other places reopened as testing continues. Manufacturing is open as long as they are able to obtain from there suppliers needed parts or key compenents. Safety of workers are at the top priority as they work with State of SC officials.
Some plants have been forced to close due to parts being made in other states which can not produce at this time. Beaches and most all other businesses still remain closed.
Social distancing is still in place for the State of SC. Please keep 6 feet apart and avoid groupings of 3 or more people at this time.
March 31, 2020 SC Governor McMaster orders the closure of public beaches, boat ramps, and waterways
This does not apply to individuals possessing a current, valid commercial fishing license or permit to the extent such individuals may seek to utilize or rely upon public piers, docks, wharves, boat ramps, or boat landings in connection with commercial fishing activities.
PLUS days ago Horry County Votes For Hotels and Amusement Closures In Emergency Meeting
Horry County Council voted in an unannounced emergency meeting to close hotels, public and private campgrounds, mini golf courses, golf car rentals, theaters and amusement parks in all unincorporated areas effective Sunday at Noon on March 29, 2020.
Reservations through April 30 will be rescheduled or canceled. If you’re already checked in, you may stay but won’t be allowed to extend your reservation. If you’ve been renting since before March 1, you can stay but cannot invite new guests to stay with you.
The Myrtle Beach International Airport will remain open. Horry County does not have the power to close an airport on its own, according to a release from the county.
The beaches itself remain open with guidelines of groupings for 3 people or less. Social distance is in place still at the beach including surfers.
